An Albatross Biography

An Albatross The eccentric noise rock outfit An Albatross features Edward B. Gieda III (vocals/percussion), Jason Hudak (bass), Kat Paffett (organ/synth), Phillip Reynolds Price (organ), Jake Lisowski (guitar), and Ed Klinger (drums). Hailing from Philadelphia and Wilkes-Barre, An Albatross released their debut, Eat Lightning, Shit Thunder, in 2001 on the local When Humans Attack! label. A year later, the New York City indie rock imprint Ace Fu signed the band. The rackety grind punk sounds of We Are the Lazer Viking, which highlighted a more mischievously bold set from An Albatross, arrived in summer 2003. A split 7" with XBXRX, Into the Lazer Eye, followed on Gold Standard Laboratories in 2004. Around this time, Paffett departed and touring drummer Steve Vaiani was added to the group. Blessphemy (Of the Peace Beast Feastgiver and the Bear Warp Kumite) was slated for a June 2006 release. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
