Baby Rasta Biography

Baby Rasta Baby Rasta has long been an influential voice in the world of reggaeton. Not only due to his success alongside longtime collaborator Samuel Gerena, but also as a guest artist appearing on some of the industry's biggest hits, Baby Rasta (Wilmer Alicia) developed a good reputation and clout. Having recorded four records as half of the famous reggaeton duo Baby Rasta y Gringo, two each for Sony International and Universal Music Latino, Baby Rasta broke off to test the waters as a solo artist. After years of disputes with record producers for showing Baby Rasta preferential treatment, Gringo too decided to go it alone and see what could be accomplished on his own. Baby Rasta's first solo outing for Universal, La Ultima Risa debuted at number nine in the U.S. Generating radio successes like "Ay de Mi!" and "Capturo," La Ultima Risa bodes well for Rasta as a developing voice in a very young genre. ~ Evan C.
