Buried Inside Biography
Ottawa, Canada's Buried Inside blend the aggression of heavy metal and hardcore with the songwriting ambition of progressive rock -- along similar lines as Neurosis and Isis. First formed in 1997, the group refined its sound over the course of two independently released albums: 1999's In and Of the Self and 2001's Suspect Symmetry, as well as nonstop touring with the likes of Converge, The End, Unearth, and others. This brought them to the attention of major metal force Relapse Records, which went on to release their third effort, 2005's one-song, 40-minute concept piece Chronoclast. At time of recording, Buried Inside consisted of vocalist Nicholas A. Shaw, guitarists Andrew Tweedy and Matias Palacios-Hardy, bassist Stephen A. Martin, and drummer Michael B. Godbout. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide
