Burn In Silence Biography

Burn In Silence In their official band bio on their MySpace page, Burn in Silence claims definitively that they are neither metalcore nor emo, but...yeah, they really are. A six-piece from Brighton, MA, a student-overrun section of Boston smack-dab between mammoth Boston University and jock-oriented Jesuit school Boston College, Burn in Silence in fact strikes a perfect balance between sensitive-kid indie rock and meathead post-hardcore metal, with vocals that regularly slide from one style to the other mid-song and a full-time keyboardist and sampler to texturally enhance the otherwise straightforward guitar rock. Formed in 2004, Burn in Silence consists of singer and lyricist Chris Harrell, lead guitarist and primary songwriter Mike Casavant, rhythm guitarist Alan Glassman, keyboardist Ben Schulkin, bassist Max Lavelle, and drummer Darren Cesca. Following a self-released demo EP, 2005's Pure as Your First Day, Burn in Silence signed to the indie label Prosthetic Records. Their full-length debut, Angel Maker, was released in the summer of 2006. ~ Stewart Mason, All Music Guide
