Caliban Biography
Caliban is as much Lief Sorbye as Tempest is. Both are his brainchild and would not function without him. Where Tempest showcases Sorbye's hard rock leanings with Celtic textures, Caliban allows him to release his acoustically driven musical passions. The group has always been a duo. Caliban was first formed in the late '90s and composed of Sorbye and Michael Mullen (also of Tempest). The duo released a self-titled album in 1998. When Mullen eventually left Tempest, he carried on in Caliban for a time. However, after the turn of the new millennium, Sue Draheim replaced him as the second half of the duo. ~ Gary Hill, All Music Guide
