Cenotaph Biography

Cenotaph Not to be confused with the pioneering Mexican death metal band, this particular Cenotaph hails from Turkey's capital city of Ankara, and deals in an even more extreme form of gore/grind/black/death metal inspired by (but taken even further than) the work of Carcass, Autopsy and Cannibal Corpse. Formed in 1994 by vocalist/bassist Batu Cetin, the band's recorded output has been consistently challenging and intense, but sporadic at best, and includes 1996's Voluptuously Minced, 1998's Puked Genital Purulency, and 2003's Pseudo Verminal Cadaverium -- the last also featuring guitarists Basar Cetin and Cihan Akün, and drummer Goremaster. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide
