Comeback Kid Biography

Comeback Kid Winnipeg, Canada's Comeback Kid formed with humble beginnings. It all started in 2002 when vocalist Scott Wade approached guitarist Andrew Neufeld--who at the time was singing for another Winnipeg hardcore outfit called Figure Four--about starting a band. Neufeld accepted; he not only saw it as an opportunity to create music that was different from Figure Four, but also as a chance to play guitar instead of sing. With a line-up that included drummer Kyle Profeta, bassist Cliff Heide and fellow Figure Four guitarist Jeremy Hiebert, Comeback Kid immediately began to write and play local shows--all squeezed in-between Figure Four's extensive touring schedule. In March 2003, Southern California's Facedown Records released Comeback Kid's debut record Turn It Around. In support of the record, the group toured throughout Canada, the U.S. and Europe with the genre's most influential bands, like Terror, Throwdown, Every Time I Die and Stretch Armstrong. The collective was then signed to Victory Records and began recording their much anticipated second album. Working with Bill Stevenson (of Descendents, ALL and Black Flag fame) and Jason Livemore, Comeback Kid further developed their high-energy hardcore with heavy, aggressive riffs and powerful, hard-hitting vocals. Wake the Dead was released in February 2005.
