Daemonarch Biography
A one-off, back-to-basics black metal detour for the members of Portuguese gothic metal kings Moonspell (whose first few efforts had in fact delved in black metal), Daemonarch was also conceived as an outlet for vocalist Fernando Ribeiro's teenage poetry and on-going studies in the occult. Here calling himself Langsuyar, for maximum black metal role-playing authenticity, Ribeiro called upon his Moonspell colleagues Ricardo Amorim (guitar), Sérgio Crestana (bass), Pedro Paixao (keyboards/samples) and, interestingly, no drummer, to work on Daemoarch's heretofore only album, 1998's Hermeticum. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
