Electric Skychurch Biography

Electric Skychurch Los Angeles-based ambient techno mystics Electric Skychurch comprised composer and producer James Lumb, vocalist Roxanne Morganstern and percussionist Alex Spurkel. Formed in 1993, the trio began attracting notice through their performances on the L.A. underground dance scene, often appearing at the Full Moon Gathering raves. The first Electric Skychurch single, "Creation," appeared in early 1994, followed a year later by the LP Knowoneness, a record notable for its use of live instruments -- strings, didgeridoos, pianos, bongos -- in tandem with antique analog synths. The atmospheric Together EP followed in 1996. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
