Headhunter Biography
Following his rude dismissal from Destruction -- one of Germany's earliest and most popular thrash metal bands -- vocalist/bassist Schmier (real name Marcel Schirmer) decided to carry on with a new outfit called Headhunter. Rounded out by guitarist Schmuddel and journeyman drummer Jorg Michael (Stratovarius, Mekong Delta, Grave Digger, etc.) Headhunter released a number of hyperactive heavy metal albums that straddled the line between thrash and power metal -- namely 1990s Parody of Life, 1992's Another Bizarre Gardening Accident, and 1994's Rebirth. After a quiet period during which he dedicated himself to the restaurant he owns in his hometown of Weil am Rhein, Schmier rejoined Destruction in 2000. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide
