Himinbjorg Biography
Taking their name from the mountain retreat of the Norse god Heimdall, Chambéry, France's Himinbjørg professes to be a pagan black metal band and observes the genre's traditional, no-frills (no keyboards, no symphonics, etc.) approach on albums such as Where Ravens Fly (1998), In the Raven's Shadow (1999), Third (EP, 2001), Haunted Shores (2002), Golden Age (2003), and Europa (2005). Vocalist/bassist Zahaah and guitarist Mathrien D. have guided the band's career since the beginning, with various members passing through along the way, including drummer Kahos and second guitarist Anton for those latter releases. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
