Lucky Pierre Biography
Lucky Pierre is both a pseudonym and side project of Arab Strap's Aidan Moffat, who has also masked his real name under the aegis of Ben Tramer. Prior to releasing the full-length Hynogogia in 2002, Moffat released two limited pressing Lucky Pierre singles (less than 1500 for each, released on the Lucky label), Pierre's Final Thought and Blank for Your Own Message. Though putting to use the same basic set-up spidery guitars, drum machines, strings -- featured in his work with Malcolm Middleton as Arab Strap, Moffat's material as Lucky Pierre is more spare in comparison. Moffat took the name Lucky Pierre from Herschell Gordon Lewis' 1961 sexploitation film The Adventures of Lucky Pierre. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide
