Monolith Biography

Monolith Formed as an underground collective that represented a collaboration between Toronto hip-hop crews Lyrical Coalition and The Horde, Monolith was born in 1994 with a line-up that averages over 15 members. However, with each member busy with their own solo projects and production deals, Monolith's first official release The Long Awaited EP wouldn't hit the streets until 1998, thanks to their own One Rock Records. The follow-up single "Bye D'Plenty"/"At The T.O.P." single came out that same year without any assistance from the music industry suits. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
