National Velvet Biography
Vocalist Maria Del Mar and bassist Mark Storm met in the mid-'80s and soon after formed National Velvet with drummer Gary Flint and guitarists Mark Crossley and Tim Welch. After releasing the independent single "Pacifist at Risk" in 1987, the group signed with Capitol and released their self-titled debut in 1988. Courage followed in 1990. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
