Open Canvas Biography
Open Canvas is the pseudonym under which Gregory Kyryluk records deep, seductive, electro-tribal ambience. Based somewhere in the Western Hemisphere (or so rumor has it), Canvas has recorded two CDs, 1997's Nomadic Impressions and 2000s Indumani. His style is smooth and delicate and leaves nothing to the imagination. The atmospheres create vivid soundscapes with bright colors. Thus, the alias comes from a very "open" artist painting bright and clear pictures on his "canvas" -- his soundscapes.
While it might be premature to close the book on Open Canvas career, he has not released a CD in three years and reports that he has no plans to do so in the near future. With the inconsistency of the music industry, that could change tomorrow. ~ Jim Brenholts, All Music Guide
