Platero Y Tu Biography

Platero Y Tu Spanish rock & roll and blues band Platero y Tú got involved in Bilbao's scene after issuing its first record called Voy A Acabar Borracho. After signing up to local label DRO, the band released Burrock'n'roll in 1991, followed by 1992's Muy Deficiente and 1993's Vamos Tirando. Platero y Tú's breakthrough came in 1994 with Hay Poco Rock'n'Roll, the group's first gold record. Two years later the band was touring around Spain along with Extremoduro, recording a live album and video called A Pelo. As the act's popularity was growing, its sound was getting better. Proof of that performance refinement were 1997's 7 and the following Correos. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide
