Ripcordz Biography
Canadian pop-punks the Ripcordz began playing together in 1980, but didn't get around to releasing an album until 1988's Ripcordz Are Go! Since then, guitarist/singer Paul Gott has been the only mainstay of the group, with a changing cast of bassists and drummers falling into the Ripcordz ranks. In 1992 they released two albums, Kidnoise and There Ain't No "H" in Ripcordz, Dork-Face, the latter of which revealed the band's love of unusually long album titles. Other releases include Your Mother Wears Army Boots But Man She Looks So Cool (1996), Is That a Squeegee in Your Pocket or Are You Just Happy to See Me? (1998), and It's Never Too Late to Annoy Your Parents (2000). In 2003, the Ripcordz returned with What if They Held a Revolution and Nobody Came? on Mayday Records; the following year Mayday reissued their 1988 debut, Ripcordz are Go! ~ Wade Kergan, All Music Guide
