Sacrilege Biography
British thrashers Sacrilege are perhaps best remembered for having a female singer in Lynda Simpson -- always a rare development in the macho world of metal, but particularly thrash. Alongside guitarist Damien Thompson, bassist Tony May, and drummer Andrew Baker, Simpson debuted with 1985's Behind the Realms of Madness. Within the Prophecy followed in 1987, and the oddly named Turn Back Trilobite was released in 1989 -- both of them featuring unusually epic-length thrashings, but finding little favor outside underground metal circles. The band quietly split up sometime in the early '90s, but 1996 saw their first two releases reissued on one disc. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide
