Setherial Biography
Founded in 1994 by guitarists Alastor Mysteriis and Devolthan, Sweden's Setherial tread the dark and unswerving path to black metal Hell also trafficked by fellow Scandinavian acts like Marduk, Emperor and Darkthrone. Come 1996, the group -- by now also featuring vocalist Kraath, bassist Thorn and drummer Zathanel -- was duly prepared to enter famed Abyss Studios, from whence they emerged in due time bearing their acclaimed Nord debut. Follow-up efforts Lords of the Nightrealm (1997) and Hell Eternal (1999) saw numerous line-up changes, and a lengthy absence preceded Setherial's eventual return to action with 2003's Endtime Divine album. ~ Ed Rivadavia, All Music Guide
