Still Remains Biography

Still Remains Hailing from Grand Rapids, MI, a compact burg that stands in the shadows of Detroit Rock City, Still Remains consists of T.J. Miller (vocals), Jordan Whelan (guitars), Evan Willey (bass), Zach Roth (keyboards) and A.J. Barrette (drums). Unlike the majority of Detroit-region bands who belt out hard rock anthems, Still Remains is a Euro-metal-influenced-band, reminiscent of groups In Flames and Soilwork. Before forming Still Remains, band front man T.J. Miller, guitarist Jordan Whelan and keyboardist Zach Roth were members of metalcore-oriented band Shades of Amber while bassist Evan Willey previously-strummed low-end frequencies for the band Unition. Eventually, both Shades of Amber and Unition disbanded and Miller and Whelan turned to Willey to form Still Remains with keyboardist Roth and drummer Barrette joining shortly thereafter. Still Remains released their first album, 2004's independent If Love Was Born to Die, after cooking up several homemade EPs. Soon afterwards, the fledgling group moved their show into bigger rooms, opening for groups such as Poison the Well, As I Lay Dying and Every Time I Die. The group's first official album, coupled with their increased touring, caught the attention of many labels, eventually landing them a deal on Roadrunner Records. After inking with Roadrunner, the band began working with producer GGGarth Richardson, famous for his collaborations with Rage Against the Machine and Kittie. In 2005, Richardson and Still Remains brought their collaboration to fruition, hitting the shelves with Of Love and Lunacy, the band's second album.
